Yarn bombing is the act of beautifying an area by installing colorful works of knitted or crocheted pieces to objects such as park benches, tree stumps, signs, telephone poles, parking meters, and even cars- to name a few. Though different groups around the world yarn bomb for many different reasons and causes, the most popular reason seems to be for self expression and to add beauty and color to something, much in the same way that a graffiti artist does.
